Deacon Steve Stemper
CEO & PresidentDeacon Steve Stemper joined The Foundation November 1, 2012 as CEO and President. He has been a permanent Deacon since his ordination in June 2000 for the Archdiocese of Denver, currently assigned to Saint Thomas More parish. He brought more than 30 years of CPA and corporate financial experience to the Foundation. Combined with his deep personal faith and servant role for the Church, his business background gives Deacon Steve a unique perspective and leadership that focuses on the necessity for wise stewardship. He desires parishioners take advantage of God’s promise to never be outdone in generosity, while also glorifying God and ultimately helping Catholic parishes, schools, and ministries in their mission to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Deacon Steve is a graduate of Colorado State University where he majored in accounting. He and his wife, Cathy, have four married children (3 daughters and a son) and multiple grandchildren.

Beth Chatterton
Director, Marketing & StewardshipBeth is the Director of Marketing & Stewardship. She was raised in the area and has been a parishioner at St. Thomas More Catholic Church for over 35 years. Beth spent much of her career in the for-profit world in the telecommunications industry with companies DIRECTV, DISH Network and On Command. Beth is married to Greg (a Canadian), and they have eight children – five living and three in heaven. When Beth isn’t working you can find her hanging with her family, traveling, drinking her favorite tea or taking a nap.

Christine M. Hoyer
Senior Director of Gift PlanningChristine Hoyer is a creative and innovative development professional with an impressive history of driving non-profit missions to improve the lives of individuals and their communities, including her work at Make-a-Wish Foundation and Special Olympics. She has served as a brand ambassador who promotes the organization’s mission and vision, builds strong longstanding networks, motivates volunteers, and inspires donors to give.
She is originally from Columbus, Ohio, where she was a parish member of St. Catharine Catholic Parish for 28 years. In her recent move to Denver, she landed in the Cherry Creek community and has been attending St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church regularly. Her middle daughter, Allison also lives in Denver and her other two children (Will and Lillian) reside back in their hometown of Columbus, Ohio. She has two dogs, Lulu and Frank. Christine enjoys traveling and hanging with her family and friends.

Dan Baird
AccountantDan is the accountant at The Catholic Foundation. Prior to The Foundation he was working at small medical manufacture for over 30 years where he managed all the finance for the company. He enjoys working with people and playing with numbers. Dan has been married to his wife for over 36 years and raised three beautiful children and now has four grandchildren. He and his wife lived in the Littleton area for about 28 years before moving out to Elizabeth, Colorado. In his spare time, he sings in the choir at his home parish of Ave Maria in Parker. He loves working in the yard, golfing, fishing, hiking, camping and spending time with his family including his brothers’ families and in-laws.

Deacon Tim Kenny
Director of Gift PlanningDeacon Tim comes to The Catholic Foundation after spending his professional life in a variety of different industries, from construction, to insurance, and most recently in the automotive space. He was ordained a Deacon for the Archdiocese of Denver in 2000, and has served at Our Lady of Loretto, St. Thomas More and is currently at Risen Christ Catholic Parish. He has been blessed to have served the Lord and her Church across many different ministries, and he looks forward to working here. His faith life has been most important to him since he was a young adolescent, but he also experiences great joy through his marriage to Mary Sue, and their three adult children, one of whom is married. A native of Colorado, he enjoys all that it offers. He enjoys his time with his family, and friends, cooking for others, and learning new things about other people.

Jeff Wilson
Operations and Grants CoordinatorJeff Wilson is the Operations and Grants Coordinator at The Catholic Foundation. With a background in finance and pastoral care, he previously served the Catholic Church in the areas of ministry outreach and healthcare chaplaincy. Jeff is a convert to the Catholic Church and received the Sacraments of Initiation in 2005. The life of St. Francis of Assisi played a large role in his conversion, and he later became a professed member of the Secular Franciscan Order. He and his wife, Andrea, have two children and they are all parishioners at Light of the World Catholic Church in Littleton.

Katie McGinty
Coordinator of Gift PlanningKatie serves as the Gift Planning Coordinator at The Catholic Foundation. Katie is originally from the St. Louis, MO area and attended Missouri State University where she received a bachelor’s degree in Entertainment Management and a Master of Business Administration. Upon graduation, she moved to Denver and began her development career at the Augustine Institute, serving their donors and the Mission Circle monthly giving society for four years. Katie spends much of her free time skiing, reading, going to concerts, and spending time with family and friends. She is active in the young adult Catholic community here in Denver and “parish hops”, as she likes to put it, but most Sundays, you can find her at St. Vincent de Paul Parish.

Kevin Staab
Director of FinanceKevin is a Denver native and joined The Foundation in March 2023. After 33 years in industry and financial/accounting consulting with KPMG, Kevin took a few years off before joining The Foundation. As The Foundation continues to grow through gifting and associated granting, he joined the team to support of multiple operations, which includes IT support, Human Resources assistance, risk management coordination, applications design and date, and accounting processes. Kevin is a CPA and graduate of the University of Colorado at Boulder. Kevin is blessed to have a wife (Trisch) of over 30 years, and they have two daughters who have both settled in Dallas. Trisch and Kevin are long-time parishioners at St. Mark Catholic Church. In their spare time they enjoy traveling, and all things the Colorado mountains have to offer.

Lisa C. Kukura
Executive Director of Gift PlanningLisa is the Executive Director of Gift Planning at The Catholic Foundation and has worked here since August 2018. Lisa is from West Virginia where she previously worked for the West Virginia University Foundation, and prior to that she practiced law for many years. She and her husband of 30 years have four children, three girls and one boy. Three graduated from WVU and one from Georgia Tech, three engineers and one teacher. The children live in four different states, hitting all the time zones. Lisa’s husband is a cradle Catholic and Lisa converted to Catholicism and had her first Communion at their wedding in 1994. Lisa and her husband both graduated from West Virginia University where they met. After practicing law and raising her children Lisa choose a different career and now, she gets to meet with other Catholics, share her faith and work for the benefit of God’s Kingdom. Lisa and Jeff attend Our Lady of Loreto in Aurora.

Michelle Fehn
Chief Financial Officer (CFO)Michelle Fehn has been with The Catholic Foundation since 2009, and currently acts as the Chief Financial Officer. She serves the team in multiple areas including accounting, financial reporting, IT, payroll, and human resources. Michelle is a graduate of the University of Colorado and has 30 years of experience in all aspects of accounting and business processes. She began her career as a certified public accountant with KPMG in its Denver office. Michelle later worked with the Jones Companies for over 12 years, first as a tax senior for the cable subsidiary and later as a controller for a software development subsidiary. Michelle and her husband of over 33 years, Brad, are members of Our Lady of Loreto parish in Aurora. In their spare time, they enjoy spending time in the beautiful Colorado mountains with their three daughters and four granddaughters.
